Because you had no close personal connection to him. You've lost a family member but not a close personal relative you shared a lot of fond memories with. I am sorry for your lost time with him and my sympathies to those he had a closeness to.

    WE WALK AMONG YOu

I THOUGHT MY RESPONSE WAS MORE IMPERSONAL,THUS MORE BENEFICIAL TO THE GUY. BESIDES, DOUBLEHELIX MISSES GEORGE BUCKLEY,AND YOU DON'T,,,,,,,COLLEEN!!!!!!! REMEMBER: W.W.A.Y.!

thanks everyone for your response and i'm truly sorry for your loss as well , like the old saying goes "life goes on" :(

There are steps in grieving, maybe someone knows it includes: shock, bargaining, acceptance, etc.. something like that? When I lost my Step father, It took sometime to hit me, maybe that's the case? Maybe in time you will deal with it differently?

Don't worry about how you feel now, just be there for your family and hopefully you will understand it later. Sorry for the loss of your Grandpa, maybe you will hear some fond memories from your family and get a chance to have some more insight into what kind of a person he was.

I never met my bio dad. he died before I found him... I thought i was ok. When I met my sisters for the first time I tryed not to cry. I felt I had no right. But I did. When I lost my G father I did not shed a tear and I loved him dearly. So it just goes to show we are not as in control of what we think our emotions should be.. I will soon lose my dad (the man who loves me like a duaghter, always has) ... only time will tell what emotion I will surcome to.

    Stoicism my dear..always stocisom

I would suppose because you never had a relationship with him it is hard to assoiate is death with crying or feelings of that sort.

Hi doubleh...how are you...you are a sensitive soul...but you didn't know him...you will have many people die in your long lifetime (I have afeeling you will have that long one!) Don't feel bad...I had a stepfather who was killed when I was about your age and did not feel a thing because he was a bastard..does that make ME bad..no..we can only feel what we have experienced as good experiences...the rest as all moot!
