insurance information

Is there any way to find out auto insurance information on someone that hit you if they did not show proof of insurance at the time of the accident. what can be done

Okay if you are saying someone hit you and there was an accident did you not call the police? If so they would have that information on the write-up report of which you have to go to whatever police department it is and pay for and pick up the report. Also, if you have insurance and the police report says that it was the other person that was at fault then your insurance company should be going after their insurance company to collect for the damages to your vehicle. Now if no one called the police and a report was never written up you are pretty much on your own. Screwed in other words.
