In my county here in Virginia, we host " The Virginia Cantaloupe Festival, and we really have a big turnout. We have some of the BEST tasting cantaloupes in the country.

Black Walnut Festival, SPENCER, WV, usually 2nd week of OCT., WV has alot of arts/crafts, festival but the BWF probably most recognized and attended.

We have a Spring and Fall Festival down town on the square, arts & crafts, stuff like that. We have an Annual Antique Auto parade and Movies in the Park on Thursday nights. Doesn't get better than that.

Boston is always looking for a reason to party, and the rest of MA just follow suit. There is always something going on. I like the Brockton fair. The St. Patrick's day parade is always fun. Fireworks at the Boston POP's . If you are looking for something to do you can always find something in and around Boston.
