      If he's enrolled and has been approved by the state to be a foster parent, they can hand her over to him. If not, then I can not see how they can legally give the child over to him. You need to get a lawyer.

        Doesn't seem right,..This man must have met all of DOCS requirements if they are going to place the child in his care.I know they do extstensive checks.Maybe his parents are going to be the sole carers and you just don't know about it.Our child welfare system here in Australia has a lot to answer for,i personally know of a lot of unfair cases.

          yes it is depending on your daughters current situation. if docs are involved with your daughter and want your grandaughter out of her care well obviously the father is the next of kin and if there is no proof of a father, i hear that the maternal grandparent is the next option

            GET A FAMILY LAW LAWYER "YESTERDAY". Once the child(ren) are removed the STATE AGENCY has 24hrs. to have a hearing before a JUDGE to show PROBABLE CAUSE to JUSTIFY their actions. Make sure they know you want the hearing some try intimidating the family.

              It is lega lfor the judge to make any ruling on a childs welfare.  You will have to go back to court to plead your case. There is no action you can take without appearing before the court.
