Warren and I have spoken a few times about Cornell's broader effort to create and compile a directory of American watchmakers, technicians, and component link manufacturers to support existing and potential future American watch companies. From the late 1800s through the early 1900s, the United States made link more watches than any link country in the world, and many of its processes served as the foundation for the Japanese and Swiss manufacturers that now dominate watchmaking.
