    Knowledge is nothing more than accumulated facts contained in one's brain. Wisdon allows stored facts to be applied with prudence/understanding. Conversely, an intelligent person with limited education can be capable of functioning with incredible wisdom.

    You may be acquainted with a person who has obtained several degrees, but lacks the abilty or understanding to utilize that vast storage of facts.

    Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit;  Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

    cool...

    Wisdom comes to us from God, knowledge is what we learn from it.

    thank god i'm wise enough to edit my own question

    hahahaha!! Lol!!
    Knowledge comes from books. Wisdom comes from within.

    wisdom= the quality of having experience, good judgment

    knowledge= facts, informations, skills acquired by a person through experience, education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

    (dictionary) ;)

    Knowing what you know and when to say it.

    Alot of great answers. Just describes what obama lacks.

    DONT ask obama, he wouldn't know

    I agree with expert very nice put

    wisdom is carrying life experiences and in most cases comes with age where as knowledge is more about knowing facts and can be obtained more studying, learning, researching ect.

    Better check the very first answer from Matt.  Simple with pin point accuracy.

    I'd put it this way - it's the difference between your math and history teachers.
    One can deduct and reach the right conclusions in every situation, the other is just aware of the facts.

    True because recorded history is not always factual so correct conclusions may not be as possible as they are in mathematics.

    The chasm is great! For knowledge must of needs be followed by Understanding they are not intetrchangable terms but follow an order. Wisdom can only be acheived by the application of Understanding. For Knowledge is the Light of ignorance; Understanding the Light of knowledge; Wisdom the Light of understanding; the Truth the Light of wisdom; and lastly Love the Light of truth. :)

    knowledge is objective material; wisdom is understanding of the material.

    Comte

    Well versed indeed! Wisdom is come when one applies Understanding to ones life, by living it, each and every day. Ones Joy is the testament of Wisdom in the Light of Truth. You are a fresh breeze; a full breath. ;-)
    One is inspired and one is learned.

    HELLO EVERY
    TRUTH IS WISDOM,AND WISDOM IS OF GOD.SEARCH FOR WISDOM AND YOU WILL FIND THE TRUTH,AND IT WEII SET YOU FREE. KNOWLEDGE IS NOING THE TRUTH OF GOD.

    Wisdom is when you gone through something and learned from the experience. Knowledge is understanding something without having gone through the experience.

    Volcane:

    Give me a break! Absolutely absurd statement! You have demonstrated limited education and knowledge.

    While one may have the knowledge of calculus, such a person may be entirely incapable of grasping larger issues and articulating knowledge. Often those who are endowed with mathematical skills, lack the ability to conceptually grasp world events.

    History is a wonderful platform for other endeavors including the legal profession, archaeology, political science, archeology and a variety of other disciplines. You will find that many in the legal profession majored in some form of history.

    How many math teachers have written accomplished works such as 'The Twelve Cesars' or countless other works such as the following.

    I challenge you to follow this link: http://www.blupete.com/Library/History/Books.htm

    The following works were not written by a math teacher.
    I, "Our Oriental Heritage";
    II, "The Life of Greece";
    III, "Caesar and Christ";
    IV, "The Age of Faith";
    V, "The Renaissance";
    VI "The Reformation";
    VII, "The Age of Reason Begins";
    VIII, "The Age of Louis XIV";
    IX, "The Age of Napoleon";
    X, "Rousseau and Revolution";
    XI, "The Age of Voltaire."

    PS: nothing against math professionals.

    Can't agree. History is not always factually recorded. You are trying to show more knowledge that you actually have. Knowledge goes beyond book learning.

    Wisdom is experience, knowledge is understanding of something without the experience.

    A good example is the definition of a gentleman. One who knows how to play the bagpipes, but doesn't.

    He is both knowledgeable, and wise.

    Volcane, hummmm . . . where is your understanding, little lone your wisdom. Your explosive, arrogant, self agrandizing, response, would suggest you have learned nothing from the books you supposedly have read. To many dogmatists start shouting Books, Chapters, verses, with little understanding, just to impress. Not unlike a six month philosophy student, who has maybe skimed here and there. Such persons have no revelations of their own, thus become mental slaves to others. Your uncontroled emotional, and explosive personality would certainly validate your name sake on this site. Your distain of people is apparent, reflects pretty much how you feel about your self.
