Want to plant vegetables in straw bales as I've read it's easy and no or very little weeding and digging. Will pine straw bales work, or do they have to be wheat, barley or oats straw?

I have a 2005 chevrolet malibu classic and can't seem to get the back seat to fold down in order to haul larger items. I do not have the manual. Does anyone know about this?
