If there were such a place as the hell fire like that of Dantes inferno that would make God less wise than humans and more cruel that the Devil.

If you owned a rabid dog would you burn it on the fire while it was still concious? A humane person would have it put to sleep as quietly and humanly as possible.

If your child was disobedient would you punish it by holding its hand in the flames? Of course you wouldn't! You would find yourself up in court very quickly is you did.

Never-the-less this is what false religious teachers of Christendom particularly trinitarian inquisitors have taught the people down through the centuries in order to hold power over people. Hence Jesus said 'The truth will set you free.'

This is what the bible teaches

(2 Corinthians 11:13-15) . . .For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

Do you realize that millions of sincere people called humanists who are unable to believe in the God of the Salvation or his anointed (Christ) because of Hell fire preachers and trinitarians?

Pardon me for pointing out that you do not seem to be getting much help here teacher. You seem to be a very sensitive and emotional lady. Would your problem be eased if you taught younger students? One of my nieces used to teach secondary school, but the yobs got to her, so she switched to primary school and finished as deputy head mistress. So maybe a career adjustment might be helful?

From a religious point of view, you are aware I assume that we are living in the last days?

(2 Timothy 3:1-17) But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away

Now everybody is feeling the pressure as these last days reach their climax. So prayer is good.

(Philippians 4:6-7) 6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.

My personal experience has been that when I pray about a bad situation and leave the matter in his hands the situation some how gets modified. Then I wonder why in the first place was I so concerned?

Logic dictates that with so many thousands of different sects contradicting each other there is even more error among what is called popular Christianity than there is in the religions viewed as pagan. I as brought up with 3 different sects of 'Born again' Christians and while I got a training of sorts They were all a bit bible punchy and they thought they were doing Gods work. But as it turned out not only was their stiff starchy attitude was off putting but they could not show me where to get the answers I was looking for. There is a scripture that you may like to consider:

(Psalm 146:3-4) . . .Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.  4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that very day his thoughts do perish.

So if anyone tries to frighten you with a story about hell being a place of fiery torment you can tell them with authority that it is not true. The fiery hell in the bible is symbolic and not literal.

Strangely, everybody has made good points here. But which is true and which is false?

The Apostle Paul writing to Timothy wrote:

16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Either that is true, or it is not true. Can we agree on one or the other?

If it is not true why have so many millions of people wasted their lives down the centuries copying it as professional scribes translators and teachers, and why have so many died defending it? Why is it the worlds most widely distributed book translated into something like 2,000 languages? There must be something about this book wriiten by Jews that is very important surely?

Maybe we should all read it again with open minds to find out what its about?

Is it historically accurate? The religious hypercrits of Jesus day did not like to hear what Jesus or his apostles had to say at all, so we read:

(Luke 19:39-40) 39 However, some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him: “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.”

Do the stones cry out? Yes they do. Countless millions have travelled the middle east to view the abundance of archeological evidence that the cities and civilisations recorded in the Bible are actually there--- AND in spite of the sceptics and the criics---- Yes they are!

Does the Bible expect you to swallow every thing down as factual everything your local minister of priest says without question? No it does not!

(1 John 4:1) 4?Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

But does the Bible tell us what the future will be even after we die? Yes it does, but it does not make it easy. The greatest teacher of all time could not convince the Jewish nation that their God would permit his holy city to be destroyed by Roman armies. But now that is also a fact of history written in stone on mount Zion in Jerusalem and in the Roman forum on a stone frieze high up on the Arch of Titus. Jesus prophesy was indeed fulfilled 36 years after his death.

But the above is only a thumb nail of the masses of evidence contained in this much maligned book. But are those who do not believe, are you prepared to change your view point? And those of you who say you do believe, are you prepared to cleans yourselves from false religious stories and practices inserted by false teachers in sheeps clothing? Are you prepared to supply accurate factual knowledge to your listeners?

His favored theologian one Irish archbishop James Usher was the gentleman responsible for the remarkable and almost accurate chronology that you may find in the central margin of some KJ translations. Sadly Usher suffered from a delusion that was common at the time Namely that the earth was created in 6 24 hour days. Whereas bible texts in Hebrews chapter 4 show clearly that the human race still exists in the DAY of Gods rest or Sabbatical.
