What does RMS stand for in RMS Titantic?
Answers: 2 Views: 806 Rating: 0 Posted: 14 years ago
I researched this long ago. Very interesting story but actually, it was registered both as the HMS and RMS Titantic. I saw the document. However, it was automatically registered through the Postal Service as RMS, Royal Mail Service, as a requirement to carry mail. The HMS, her majesty's service, was designated for passenger service. Later, and in historically earlier periods, the HMS was for military ships only.
