Bringing in another senient creature into this world has always appeared to me as a selfish act, I went through a stage of being furious that two peoples love and lust culminated in MY existence.
If as a teenager my father had been seventy I would have imploded.

Abject solitude, hence we use it as our final punishment inflicted by society, life in solitary confinement.For social creatures this constitutes a mini-death. Even suicide looks like a glittering vice from this perspective.
On a more imaginative note, a desert island full of wasps, hornets and spiders might get me talking.

What do they expect, your human, we are wrong often, especially in others company because they are different and see difference as wrong, try to be true to yourself and worry not too much about being wrong, there is someone worse than you out there, and often the one's pointing the finger.

An eye for an eye is often used by people as a natural aversion to some behaviours,by asking the child how would they like to have their things stolen, we are trying to get the little creature to subjectify and empathise, I remember being humiliated in front of the whole family and made to listen to everyone's view, which after the initial embarassment, proved very salutary as regards reflection and cessation.
If you live under Islamic powers maybe telling them they will have their hands chopped off may have some advantage but as there are many limbless folk, perhaps not.
Better to instill disappointment than fear.
