Eve was called 'Woman' prior to being called Eve. Eve was the name given her because she was the mother of all living. - (a fact not often taken into account by many theologians). The occurrence of the naming takes place long before Cain killed Abel and moved on to Nod. If she truly became a mother before Cain and Abel, then it must be understood that Cain, Abel and Seth are mentioned specifically because of their roles in the story of humankind, the entrance of physical death and God's plan of redemption.
