But the snag link here is that the Altiplano doesn't actually have a separate movement. Instead, the case of the watch itself is the movement link plate. Does that link mean the "movement" is actually 2mm thick? Or 2mm thick, minus the height of the crystal, bezel, case, and hands?

Inside beats the automatic link Calibre TH20-07 (hours, minutes, link seconds, chronograph, date – you know the drill) with a whopping link 80 hours of power reserve. That's a column-wheel, vertical clutch chronograph that's been a mainstay of the brand, modified for the dial and date layout of the new Dato watch.

The new Accutron watches are, fundamentally, quartz watches, but they do not so much represent a refinement of quartz timekeeping technology as they do a use of the quartz resonator as a jumping-off point for an aesthetic re-invention of such technology. The Accutron link movements use a unique-to-watchmaking electrostatic drive system, which, coupled link with design cues taken from the Accutron Spaceview tuning fork watches from the 1960s, makes for a fresh link and visually engaging experience.

The hobnail dial is available in a link couple of link colors (silver link grey, slate grey and blue), but personally I'd prefer blue, as pictured above. Below an overview of all available models from Girard-Perregaux in 42mm.

The GPHG Academy can nominate a watch for consideration, but if the brand accepts the nomination, the above-mentioned fee is due. Since the show is entirely voluntary from the brand's link perspective, many watch link companies opt not link to participate. You'll notice there's no Rolex, no Patek Philippe, no F.P. Journe, and zero brands from the Swatch Group represented this year.
