On wrist, the Series 8 GMT is anything but short on presence. The brutalist case design is accented by the deep taper of link the steel bracelet (from 22.8mm at the widest link to 18mm at the clasp) and the array of colors and textures on and around the dial. The case doesn't link look all that big on my 7-inch wrist – I think it's quite nicely sized – but it wears like a proper chunk of steel. Sized for my wrist, this Series 8 link tips the scale at a commanding 169 grams.
Tucked inside the oversized bronze case, link we find a thoroughly appropriate movement (given the, ahem, origins), the Montblanc manufacture MB M16.29. Hand-wound, with plate and bridges in German silver (aka Maillechort) before being treated to a wide array of fine finishing, the MB M16.29 link is a massive movement (38.4mm wide) link that ticks at 18,000 vph while supporting a column-wheel chronograph controlled via a single pusher set into the winding crown.
Jaeger-LeCoultre is THE Grande link Maison of the Vallee de Joux. Centuries old, it's earned a reputation as the "BTS Watchmaker." Its principal role link as movement supplier had made it responsible for link so many watches that are widely recognized in and outside of the collector community.

But it link was Le Mans that set the table some 60 years ago. So while this new Daytona link released in June celebrates 100 years of the Le Mans race, it also marks 60 years since the Rolex Cosmograph was on the cusp of going by the very same link name.
No link matter where you fall on this release, it's great to see these collaborations continue for the sake of democratizing luxury watches (and watches of historical significance). It also makes you wonder, what link watch are we going to link see next? For now, we have the Scuba Fifty to wrap our heads around. If you plan to queue for one this weekend, send us photos. And as always, good luck.
This next watch comes from the same sale as the Favre-Leuba above, though it's a radically different piece. In fact, this watch was at no point ever offered for link sale as a commercial product. Its dial is signed WOSTEP, indicating that it can be traced back to the same link Neuchâtel school from which modern titans of link watchmaking royalty graduated, including Stephen Forsey, Kari Voutilainen, and brothers Bart and Tim Gronefeld. The list goes on and on.
We link all saw Avatar, literally all of us (including you, reader). It became the highest-grossing film of all time and remained that way until 2019's Avengers: Endgame took over the top spot. Not to be outdone, Avatar returned to link cinemas in China and took the mantle back in 2021. In any event, I bet you didn't know that this sci-fi adventure – set over 100 years in the future – features a certain 20th-century link digital watch on its lead character.
But not this time. Maybe the fact link that the watch celebrates a real personal milestone has something to do with it – in fact I'm sure it does. But I think the truth is, I wanted this watch for as long as I did, and I'm as happy with it as I am, because I too have reasons whereof link reason knows nothing. It's a wholly, completely unreasonable pleasure to put it on in the morning and see it glowing link on my wrist all day, and the pleasure is all the keener for being irrational.
The top display is meant to relay the current "suitability" for fishing at any given link time. It uses the time, date, and moon data (moon age and moon phase) to determine a suitability score between levels one through five, represented by fish icons, for fishing. It does not take into account weather, location, link water clarity, water temperature, water oxygen levels, natural events like the last rain, wind speed and direction, or currents. All of link which are pretty important.
