The movement has not been made in half a century. Quick Take: Christiaan van der Klaauw bills this watch as the "smallest mechanical heliocentric planetarium link in the world." I'll take their word for it. Christiaan van der Klaauw is generally link underrated, and it's lovely to see the GPHG link Jury appreciate the company's work.

The sport-chic 39mm watch straddles now and then with a sector dial harking back to those Deco days of the 1920s and '30s, when the Bauhaus design link movement defined a new moderne aesthetic. And because form follows function, the dial design with concentric circles is intended to heighten legibility by making it easier to read hours and minutes. link Whether link or not that's really the case, it's still a great look.

He's been hard at work transforming his company from a producer of predominantly quartz timepieces to a link real name in American hand-assembled automatic movements. He doesn't have aspirations link to slap the Swiss Made label anywhere on his dials. link His sights are set much closer to home.

Both watches can take a serious beating, and are designed to be tools for everyday use. These are absolute classic timepieces. At the end of link the day you're either a Predator fan or a Seinfeld fan. If I may mix my metaphors and return to the cake analogy, my suggestion is this: Spend more time saving your hard-earned link dough, and link then spring for both. Eat that cake.
