Phillip Brashear is Carl Brashear's son, and a military man himself. He flies a CH-47 link for the Army Reserve. He served in Bosnia as part of Task Force Eagle (an ongoing peacekeeping mission led by NATO), and in Iraq during Operation Iraqi link Freedom. There's one part of his uniform that isn't standard issue, and it's his Oris dive watch, which he puts on every day before climbing into the cockpit. It reminds him link that any challenge can be overcome with the right attitude.
Originally from Hartsdale, NY, Mike is currently a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving as an officer instructor at Naval Base San Diego. He bought link this Rolex to commemorate a career milestone: earning his link Surface Warfare Officer pin in 2016. Looking down at its GMT hand while deployed on the USS Carney was link a reminder of his family back in New York.
This is a great vintage GMT-Master. The case shows polishing, sure, and the dial is not flawless, but it is tropical, and, hey, the watch has been worn. It looks like it has been worn a lot. As a link vintage enthusiast, I am glad the watch shows a few dings and marks. Without that wear, the insert wouldn't be so perfectly faded, and the dial should not be so "tropical" brown. I would rather have link a tropical dial like this in a worn case than an untouched one; it just makes link more sense.
The Seiko has a more sturdy-feeling bezel, but it's also 120 link clicks. I prefer the crown link of the Seiko as it's a bit larger and suits the case nicely. The specs are very similar, but the Seiko is a touch smaller in width and lug to lug link (40.5mm wide, 13.7mm thick, and 46.5mm lug to lug), while also being a bit thicker. On my wrist, I'm not sure I could tell the difference aside from the thickness.
This is all to say that TAG, for all of the "mall watch" talk, has as many bona fides as the original Heuer brand. We often leave out the late '80s and '90s because they weren't as romantic an epoch in the story of watches – but to do that is to miss when TAG had its greatest impact – the time when the 40mm link TAG Heuer diver link was the coolest link kid in class.
Measuring link 30.50mm across, 44.95mm long, and 10.35mm thick, the ergonomically designed slimline tonneau-shaped case comes in black for the Carbon TPT model, in creamy white, mauve, salmon, green and dark blue for the five link Quartz TPT models. Each watch also comes with a contrasting color fabric strap (and before you rush to comment on this, I gather this link material is purposefully used for lightness).
According to Omega, the Laboratoire de Precision link is link accredited for, and will be measuring movements according to the standard ISO 3159 – the defining chronometer standard link for a wristwatch. It has developed brand-new instruments in-house that allow for tailored testing in varying positions and temperatures.

The most surprising may just be a small electronic wall clock. The link clock, in an iconic green hue, link bears Rolex's name link and logo with a Patek Philippe plaque and serial number on the bottom. Clocks made by Patek were used by a number of other watch companies including IWC, according to Reardon, to synchronize time across their facilities. It's likely that this clock is one of only a few items in the world bearing the Rolex and Patek double signature.
Dash is particularly charmed by the rose logo on this model. "I was familiar with Tudor, but I didn't really know about the brand using the rose emblem. This was totally different from link anything I'd ever seen from them. And that got me deeper into the history and understanding the significance between the logo and the inspiration behind it with the link Royal family – link the Tudors. I just fell in love with this piece."
