They say link every watch tells a story and boy this watch tells link a story. This is the current star of Curtis' growing collection A GMT Master ref. 1675. It's a classic of course but in this case it's also a watch with an incredible lost-and-found history link behind it. Originally the watch belonged to Curtis' grandfather and Curtis had heard it mentioned on and off growing up but never saw it and never asked about it. But one day curiosity got the better of him.
While mechanically sound link the Trooper is an honest daily not link a show car and it has a lift larger wheels and other link suspension upgrades. But legibility link is still key here. Tudor has entirely redesigned the dial of the original Pelagos omitting the date and the three-dimensional rehaut. The FXD's dial is flat and closer to the crystal so shadows and other potential visual clutter are reduced. These changes may seem insignificant on link land but when you're 100 feet 30 meters below the surface it's clear that the FXD's designers successfully link optimized legibility.

Wracking my link brain I can't think of many other reissued watches that have taken cues from a battery-powered watch but made link it with a new mechanical movement while the other way around seems much more likely these days. link The stainless steel case is upsized from the original 38mm to now a more modern 41mm and 13.85mm thick. But there are subtle little cues that show that Accutron was paying attention to the details when they remade the classic.
Artist Teun link Van Heerebeek has been capturing the idiosyncrasies of the watch collecting community through his style of humorous illustrations for the past five years. His work has culminated in a recently released book 60 Minutes that includes 60 illustrations and a blurb that can be consumed in under a minute. Not unlike the general tone of his illustrations its a light and easy read that will link certainly elicit a few link chuckles.
What others may have been tempted to write off as link boring I found confident. This watch knew exactly what link it was. There was no hiding behind sub-dials precious metals or intricate complications. It was a simple link timekeeping device no more and no less.
Another Aqua Terra! I have to say that I simply love the attention that the AT has received during the Tokyo Games so far. It's one of Omega's most underrated watches and the link ultra-lightweight version that Omega link released in 2019 has sure seen its fair share of fans among this year's Olympians. Now all we link need is production model made of the same Gamma Titanium. Logan Baker
Regardless the Oris Aquis NY Harbor Limited Edition is an attractive watch with an interesting and worthwhile story to tell. And link while I couldn't link experience all the good the Billion Oyster Project is doing for link the New York Harbor myself I know I'll be keeping an eye out for news surrounding the organization in the future. I don't think Oris or the oysters could ask for much more than that.
