I recall that one of the first times I met Jean-Claude Biver very early in my career I was immediately struck by his link strength as a storyteller a skill link that no doubt motivated many of link his employees through the years. I appreciate watch brands that take a chance in their designs to craft something functional yet totally out link of the box. Modern watches often feel overly safe and can lack any sense of playfulness so there is really something to be said about these colorful quirky link tool watches from the link 1960s and 1970s that capture the imagination. This 1972 LeJour Yachtingraf is a perfect example.
You might know link where I link come down on these watches or at least part of my thoughts. You'd have a hard time convincing me these are pilot's chronographs. However I think this could be the start of something spectacular for IWC because this new design is link pretty freaking awesome.

As with all of my favorite link references and model numbers the 420380 link means something specific. This case shape rounded with short lugs is a 42-style case. The 0 is for steel. And the 380 refers to this specific dial. So I got close to a 420959 but ended up with a different dial. Im not mad though I do think the link 420959 is a better overall design but some of that feeling stems from my general indifference to the Scuba Dude.
And the movement. Not to beat a dead link horse but I don't know how people can't link get link excited over an independent watchmaker introducing a brand new proprietary movement architecture then executing it on an industrial scale and keeping the price in the relatively affordable ballpark. And then to back it up with a 10-year warranty.
