ALL they can do is, report it the credit Bureu. NoTHING else. It will stay on you credit record for 7 years. So if you try applying for other ones, You wont get approved. Try to pay whatever it is you owe. Even if it's just $20 a month. But, STOP using it & pay it off. It's better to pay it off, than to have a bad credit report.

It probably just needs a fuse or something like that. What ever it is, I THINK it's fixable. But, I couldn't tell you how to fix it, Take it to a pro, At Best Buy, they check it for $25.00 But, depending on the problem, they'll charge differantly to fix the problem. I don't know what city your in. But, in my city, there are places that sell used monitors. Usually they work & if they don't, you can always take it back. Used monitors go cheap compared to a new one. Out here, I found a place that sells it for $49 a nice flat screen one. Look around in your area for used monitors. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy another one used than to fix your own. good Luck
