Orgasm is a very important marker. It's the greatest physical pleasure we humans are designed to achieve. Any drug which gives pleasure, but isn't as good as a top-quality orgasm, is harmless - in its direct effects; the side-effects may be anything but, but that's another story. And ifg you tire of your body, a vacation in bat-form always available. Of course, the diet is a bit restricted, but even in such a narrow field, one would expect connoisseurship to be possible. A would be OK for every day, but how about the rarer B for a change? Then there might be differences based on the ages, races and sexes of your victims. A really decadent vampire might go for pathological conditions - 'Hey, Drac! I found a real beaut the other night! Haemophilia, HIV pos and doesn't know it - yet. Still strong as an ox, and I'll give you the address in exchange for that athlete you keep drooling over - the one with the cocktail of steroids and the LSD weekends.'
Back when I was at uni, someone started a hare over the viability of an all-blood diet, and someone else bet him a pound that he could live for a full week without ill effects, drinking nothing but Guinness, and eating nothing but peanuts.
