    Two packets (about 2 lbs. total) of cut-up turkey meat, frozen, were put on the counter to partially-thaw but were forgotten and in the morning were thawed (including while still-frozen they were there for about 12 hours). I presume that this is not safe to eat? But could it be put into a pot pie and when cooked might be all right??????

    This is a comment on the answers, not a new answer. It did NOT smell at all. It wAS wrapped. But I have decided to dump it. Thank you all for your help. 'When in doubt, throw it out' and next time: to avoid wasting good food, pay more attention, right. Thanks, all. This is the first time I've asked questions....

    Smell it, if it smells bad throw it out, if it doesn't. cook it whatever way you want IMO.

    Where I live you can take it out of the freezer one morning and it still won't be defrosted next day, makes you WONDER huh?

    If it were covered or rapped, I would think it would ok, as long as you cook it well. But if your not sure, don't risk it.

    Yeah, poultry is difficult to guarantee, better to not take chances with it, if it were red meat, not as much danger, also, it seems to freeze more solidly, as higher moisture content. 

    That is a breeding ground for bacteria. Do not do it.
