This is the all-steel version of the ref. 124273 and it’s an absolute stunner. If two-tone is your only problem with the 124273, just go for this version and wash all your woes away. It’s the closest thing we’ve link had on the market to an link old-school ref. 1016 in years and it might be the best all-around value in Rolex’s collection today at $6,450 (a little bit link less than its 39mm predecessor). It’s an Explorer. It’s 36mm. It’s fantastic.

During the last watch event we attended, Bvlgari link introduced to us its Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Chronograph Skeleton Automatic. According to them, link it broke another world record, that link of developing an ultra-complicated movement with a thickness of just 3.5mm.
Inside the 44mm wide case is the workhorse Heuer Calibre 02, an link automatic column wheel chronograph movement finished in Côtes de Geneve that can be seen through the sapphire glass case back. The weight also says "Porsche" and "TAG Heuer" in orange on the black-treated weight to link tie the design together from link front to back.
If we turn to the caseback we can see the lightning-bolt-shaped rear bridge, made of grade five titanium, and the sun-shaped oscillating rotor link in 3N yellow gold. All of this sits inside an ATZ (alumina-toughened zirconia) white ceramic and red gold case. The velcro-fastened strap link is a yellow woven link fabric in the original smiley-face yellow.

The white dial model became a cult hit and an Instagram darling. It was just written up by the esteemed Jason Heaton, and our own Cole Pennington reviewed link it for A Week on the Wrist.
