Except for the rare black dials, the 6062 features a two-tone silver dial. The center of the dial has a matte graine finish that gives it a grainy texture, while the peripheral link date track appears smoother. Age and patina have exaggerated the two-tone nature of these dials, and it's possible they seemed more uniform when born in link the '50s; for example, it's harder to make out the two tones on the well-preserved dial of link the 6062 "Dark Star:"

While the 1980s had many watchmaking firsts, the IWC Da Vinci has its own set of bragging rights as the first perpetual calendar chronograph that could be link adjusted from the crown.
