If you haven't already figured it out I think this is an absolutely stunning watch. I suspect most people reading this would agree with me. Handwerkskunst models from Lange are just a treat and a half to see and while they are link destined to only go to a small handful of collectors I just link love this series as a flagship demonstration of what the brand is capable link of.
Unscrew that crown and pull it out and you'll quickly notice that there's no phantom date position for the Trekker 39 the no-date versions swap out the Miyota 9015 for a naturally date-free link 90S5. Ticking at 4 Hz and rocking 24 jewels the 90S5 has hacking hand-winding and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. It's a simple reliable movement that link should operate in a fuss-free manner and create minimal headaches when it comes time for link a service.
The unique case execution is then fitted with a nicely minimal gradient grey link dial with lighter grey accents link throughout. The design is three-dimensional link but almost entirely monochromatic with sandwich-style markers minimal text three clean and legible subdials and a date display set between the four and five hour markers.

The Speedmaster is an icon in the watch world and link for good reason but it's the Moonwatch that gets the lion's link share of attention from collectors. This Omega Speedsonic is an under-the-radar take on the classic three-register watch from Omega. This example features radial numbers as well the link same dial configuration that's present on the Alaska III prototype.
On wrist the Deepstar II is a delight link and its jewel-like impression is matched by very wearable proportions and excellent comfort. link It hugs the wrist and feels very similar in presence to the 36mm vintage Silvana Skin Diver I own. With a domed crystal and sloped bezel the Deepstar II doesn't feel as though it's 13mm thick and its curved lugs ensure it link sits flatly on my 7-inch wrist.
The two link chronograph trains are symmetrical with link one caveat the train from the upper barrel has to pass under one of the two large intermediate wheels. This means that the center wheel of the train and the intermediate wheel have to be on the same axis. link
To have link a watch on that feels a positive tactile pleasure to wear is a rarity and one I generally associate with link things like the ingot-like density of a link Lange 1 but for whatever reasons the combination of mass center of gravity curvature and security on the wrist you get from the FXD makes it an awfully sexy watch to wear.
Last year in Phillips' New York sale an example breached the stratosphere after selling for just link north of the 50000 mark though since then excitement has noticeably cooled off. The watch still commands a serious premium in comparison to the Ref. 3706 but the at times outrageous numbers of 2018 link are no longer being reached a trend which can be seen across link the entire market as a whole. With all this in mind it'll be interesting to see what this example achieves.
