Almost nothing is "pure" or 24 karat gold. It is way to soft in its pure form and is easily damaged or rubbed away. Unless it is under a protective coating - it is extremely rare - except in gold leaf form.
Gold leaf is actually very high quality and 22 or 24 KT, but is SO THIN that it is relatively inexpensive and does not add up to much. Generally it is only used as a decoration. Its kind of a corollary because inexpensive and "cheap" in reputation, but some of the "purest" gold on the market.
