Open marriages, would or have they worked for you?

I would never entertain such an arrangement, but apparently it is more common than I thought. What do you think?

No way. I don't consider an open marriage a marriage.
I think that the only serious form of commitment is "Marriage". If you live together you can just move out, if your dating you can break up. Marriage should be monogamous, if you want to have sex with someone else, why even bother getting married.

I will take some hits for this, but let me tell you a story. I lived with my girlfriend years ago and she offered me a threesome for my birthday with one of her friends, I turned it down. I may be the only man in history that has made that decision. My point was she was my world, I loved her so much, I didn't need anyone else.

Marriage should have the same level of commitment, if you don't want to spend the rest of your life with this other individual, then don't waste the paper on the wedding license. Real commitment is between two people.
