I think he had a choice,but he choose to betray someone that he was supposed to be close to,although Jesus was prepared because he knew Judas had a false love for him,it was all a facade,he turned his back on Jesus,this exists today,people just out to hurt others,especially if there is a pay off involved,that to me is just sad....the ultimate betrayal, when you cant trust those closest to you.

Judas did have free will what is interesting 30 pieces of silver is the price for a healthy male slave he was greedy he asked what will you pay me for you to take you him ? then all the illegal trials Judas said I have betrayed an innocent man then the high priest said whats that to us this is on your own head then he throw money at them and left and hanged him self
