Do you purposefully exercise on a regular basis?

I've re-upped at the gym, with plans to stretch, use the treadmill for 2 miles, followed by core strengthening. Finish with alternating upper/lower body focus (aka arms/legs).  My thoughts are well intentioned...

Do you schedule workouts, doing what, for how long, and how often?

    I know terryfossil1 is a swimmer!

Dang..... After reading all these replies, I feel so inadequate.

Swimming up to 3x a week and I have been a bushwalker all my life likely walking the equivalent of 6 to 7 times around the world.... I have walked 75 miles in one go with many such excursions in my life just not of late!

....walk daily and play tennis once or twice a week

    ....plus, honeydos

I walk (outside) everyday....supposedly more beneficial....sun, birds, nature and all, and I golf a couple of times a week. It's not always so easy to maintain a routine, as health issues arise now and again.

I go cycling every Sunday morning for about twenty miles, not enough really I know. I work most of the week, but I park the car about three streets from where I work, so I have a little walk, and also the kitchen & toilets are upstairs where I work, so I'm up and down the stairs several times a day.

The wife and i still do 3 mornings a week swimming for an hour,,and i do 45 minutes on an exercise bike 5 afternoons a week, and i do between 20 and 30 kilometers in that time, and i try to keep my pulse rate between 120 to 150 beats per minute, then 10 push ups and 10 squats, then 10 minutes arm work with a pair of 5kg dumbells.then head for a nice hot and cold shower..Clonge sounds like he is doing some very heavy muscle work..a gym instructor once told me,if you just want to tone up and lose a bit of weight.you only need to do about 45 minutes at the gym,,and you body will continue burning for quite awhile after exercise..however there are a lot of different opinions out there regarding exercise..the photo is very close to my Nautilus recumbent bike,,  >>>>>>>><<<<<<<<.. Image result for nautilus bike photos

Yes. I do every major muscle group 5-7 days per week. I stay at the gym about 90 minutes every day.

I'm hoping to do the same. It's going to be a challenge. I really am going to push myself.

But do you exercise for 90 minutes during your 90 minute stay at the gym.or do you spend a bit of time socializing Clonge.????.>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

What Terry said, or do you spend half an hour drinking coffee and eating doughnuts ? now, tell the truth.

Very perceptive, Terry! I belong to 2 gyms, having just joined a second one. I have more friends at the first one, so I spend more time schmoozing. I only know one at the second gym, and I see him about once a week. I also multi-task; I'm proficient at checking out the sheilas while I exercise!

That's okay Clonge,,the instructor at the gym i used to go to told me,i did not need to do more than 45 minutes a day,and as my wife i went to the gym, there was not any sheila perving going on.plus we were serious about getting fit..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Purposefully NO, I don't have a car, I walk a lot, so does my dog, my dog is fit for my age, as am I.

Yeah but can your dog walk past a pub Roy..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Thought I would put out information about Parkinsons disease . New research shows that getting on a stationary bike for about half hour could release buildup of bad chemicals in body that causes the problem. Results can last weeks. From what I have seen , it works.

Thank you, zorro. I'll let my cousin know. Her mom, my aunt, has PD, as does a friend at church.
