I  swallowed a hard candy while sucking on it. I was  so afraid because it lodged in my throat and I couldn't breathe, my mom had the sense to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on me, the candy popped out of my mouth and shot across the room like a bullet. LOL

....occasionally, snoring dries my throat and I cough/choke.

Yep,eating tea and a hunk of meat got sucked down the wrong passage,,because i cannot breathe through my nose,breathing through the mouth while eating has been a problem for me for a hell of a long time..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

No, I have not had that horrible experience, but my dad's cousin choked to death on a piece of meat. My co-worker's father choked to death on a sandwich he was eating at his desk during lunch (I always think, if he'd just had the door OPEN). My mom's cousins visited from out of state long ago and we invited all the local relatives, so there were many people there when the male cousin began choking on something.  If memory serves, my mom dislodged the food.
My eldest son choked on a piece of apple as a young toddler, and that was a VERY scary situation. The dog chokes on his rawhide chews all the time.
Brushing my teeth makes me gag (but I brush anyway). This has been going on for about a year.

My oldest daughter could put a whole orange in her mouth! I about died when she did it!  Freaked me out!
