Mutual respect and acceptance of idiosyncrasies. Also, a similar sense of humor seems to make love grow.     :)

My niece said it best when she told her mother that “she’s found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with”…………….

Uh huh...until she doesn't. (Oops my cynical side just showed up.)

love means accepting people just the way they are, just as GOD accepts us, after all if i were perfect i could see all your   inperfections .

We agree, thank you. If I could see your imperfections and choose to make them perfect, I doubt your appreciation would be forthcoming.

    That's it exactly! :)

never assume that your partner agrees with you 100% and be prepared for them to have an opinion that may be different to yours and accept it.

If you got over 20 years marriage under your belt and are still happy,,you will know the answer,it is not something you acquire,it is something you grow into..There is no definition of true love at the wedding post, but that is where you start..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

a I believe true love is a feeling.  That feeling comes from a lot of things that seem to fall into place. Some questions one could ask themselves is:  Do I like this person? Does this person make me feel happy? When I get mad at this person, can I figure out a way to over come that anger in a way that does not damage our appreciation for each other? Am I motivated to do everything I can for this person I feel I love? Do I feel the person feels the same joy for me and motivation to do things that makes me feel happy? Another question I heard somebody say years ago was: "If you had to live in a cabin for 25 years with this person and you only saw them and they only saw you for the 25 years, could you happy?"  They suggested that if you say yes, you probably really love this person. I have asked some people who were about to get married this question.  Some said yes. A few said no. Good luck on your love quest!
