    King Of The Frito Pie

Yesterday ROMOS tasted his first corn chip and tonight he ate his very first Frito Pie. (Compliments to my mother in the USA for sending us corn chips)

My question is if you were to visit someone in another state or country which famous  dish from your city or state would you introduce to your  friend?

This looks delish Julie. Biscuits are next on my list. Roy has never had a biscuit like the one shown on this plate. Cookies are called biscuits in Scotland.

Oops! Sorry guys. I saw Julie's comment in there twice so I deleted one, thinking she had made an error. I see now, after I read further, that you had a joke going from another thread with (the forbidden) second answer. LOL!!! Moderators....ugh.

I've never seen a meat pie with tomato sauce on top, but I'm not picky so I'm up for trying it. :)

    There's nothing like a pie,hey PL?
My wife & I were enjoying a pie with mushy peas at Horbourtown on the Gold Coast a couple of months ago & a lady from the UK took a photo of them. She said she had never seen mushy peas before

I had never heard of mushy peas before I met Roy.
One brand I like, but the other has to much mint in it or maybe the marrow fat peas or the peas with a lot of mint. Hmmm!

Tommyh, I have looked up recipes for mushy peas before and they don't seem hard to make. Homemade is always better.:)

No, no, no, Tommy. Ducty will never even try vegetables mixed with bi-carb soda and I also don't "boil" my food. Yuk! But you folks go ahead and enjoy! lol

Add sauteed mushrooms, a loaded baked potato, fresh green vegetable, and this:

I am so hungry! It's nearly 1 P.M. and I have been so busy today, I've not eaten a thing. REALLY wish I had that T-bone in the fridge!
    The Frito Pie looks delicious!

Roy has not had a real American biscuit. He thinks they are scones, but scones have no air. I'm making biscuits tomorrow.
Phyllis, it's a terrible feeling when late afternoon comes along and you've had nothing to eat. Please get something in your belly soon.

Homemade biscuits are going to spoil the man, CB, and he will enjoy that even more! I hope you have butter and honey for them.

We have butter. I'll stick my finger in the biscuit so it will taste like honey.LOL
    Bob/PKB

My son and his family (total = 6) are coming for dinner tomorrow, and maybe a favorite cousin, too. He asked me to make a meat loaf...of all things, meat loaf! I'm planning on cornbread with honey butter (or mashed potatoes), green beans, and a pumpkin oriented dessert we all enjoy.
(I did eat..a hot dog salad!)

    Bob/PKB

Comfort food! Of course. Mine will have corn, peas, shredded cheese and carrots, a little BBQ sauce, and a low fat content beef. I'm on my way to the store now

    Sounds delicious. :)

HOT DOG SALAD: I have good salad stuff (kale, spinach, shredded carrots, green onions, grape tomatoes, cucumber, shredded cheese, avocado, hard boiled egg (these are things I like). Yogurt based bleu cheese or Parmesan or avocado/cilantro dressings.
I fry/grill a sliced sausage (I have pineapple sausage lately) til it's a little charred and add it to the salad. Why it tastes so good is beyond me, but it is a treat. The sausage is not a "bad" sausage (as sausages go) and the yogurt dressing is not "bad" either, according to Weight Watchers calculations. :D
    Bob/PKB

It's delicious, refreshing, filling without being over-fulling. :D

I looked at some pics of Tarte Tatin. They look rustic and full of flavour.
