    If it looks infected and smells infected,  you should go to the ER . They may want to put you in the hosp for 3 days or so of I V  antibiotics.  Skin ulcers are nothing to fool around with .......especially if you're diabetic. So, even if it doesn't look too bad yet, go to a Dr. and follow his/her  suggestions or treatment.
