"Irate passenger slaps someone elses baby" Black or white has nothing to do with it.You don't hit kids.Especially when they're not yours.First degree assault as far as I'm concerned.

He's going to have fun in prison, he should stay off the drink I think.

Grief is no excuse for abuse. He should get the year and the fine.

Looks like there is a follow-up article wherein he has plead guilty and was sentenced January 6, 2014.  
Sad, pathetic, disturbing, disgusting...

This sounds like a nightmare to me.  How on earth did the toddler gets so close in an airplane as to have been slapped?  The boy's mother says the man leaned into her face and repeated the racial slur, reeking of alcohol.  He's on his way to take his insulin-overdosed son off life support?  He is president of his own company that fires him?  Facing a possible fine of $100,000 AND jail time?  And, of course, the civil suit is yet to come, not to mention his lawyer is receiving hate mail.  

I suppose he could have used other colorful adjectives to be offensive and kept his hands to himself...none of this would have happened.  

Grrr......How dare he. I would have slapped him right back. Lets hope the inmates slap him around.

To write the very least he has no sense of manners. Manners are instilled at a young age and would have prevented such behavior. How did he become so successful? Shame on him……..
