Not in my opinion, you decide....http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/cats/tips/declawing.html

No, no, no! Their paws remain painful for life after they are declawed. Just imagine if someone removed all your nails. Do not get a cat if you can not handle the fact that they use their claws and can be destructive.

and they remove the 1st and 2nd joint of the toes.

Definitely NOT ,  that's very cruel, even to think about it.

It’s cruel to me, that’s my opinion and if they get outside it could be the difference between life and death………..

Never ever would you like all your finger nails removed i dont think so keep them cut ask yout vet to cut them or cut them your self with cat claw cutters bur please do research on this before you cut them there is a red vien that runs through to the claw never cut on the vein as it will bleed and bleed there is a site that will show you how to cut also buy some scratch posts and put them around the house buy some cat nip and rup it on the scratch posts they will use it straight away in the uk its band as the vets over here see how cruel it is good luck

I accidently hit T D and I meant to hit TU for both Mel and maybe sunny. Sorry . I tried to undo it .

God, NO !   A cat should NOT be declawed !  It's cruel. They don't just remove the claws. They remove the 1st and 2nd joints in the toes !  I just trim my cats' claws, and then there's not problem. You trim off the tip......b/c if you trim too far back, you'll hit a vein, and it'll bleed a lot.
