It depends on If your using it for storage or if its going down the road. In the U.S. A "normal" tractor trailer pulling a 40' container can weigh a maximum of 80,000 pounds {U.S. pounds} You will have to take off for the weight of the tractor/trailer. In general We can put in 40,000 to 45,000 pounds in depending on the weight of the semi. If its for storage What are you storing? A metric ton of feathers takes up much more room than a metric ton of lead.
