I need to collect stool specimen, I was give 3 vials to put stool in,do I put specimen from one bowel movement into the three, or do I need to collect from 3 different bm's?
vials are labeled :ova and parasite, one with zn fixative, another for the same with formaldehyde, and the other is for C& S. The instructions did not say if the stool from one movement goes into each vial. I'd like to do it right. Thank you.

With the info you've given I would assume they are testing for 3 different things so it would maybe be from the same BM, however I'm not the one you should be asking, try asking your clinician.

From my hospital working experience the same bowel movement is used and placed into three pots with a spatula.
