Would a cougar bite a horse then leave or would he stay for the kill?

Sure he would leave if he was disturbed or felt threatened by something else.Maybe the horses were making a ruckus because of the cougar & someone turned a light on to see what was going on.That would be enough to make him give up the hunt. They are very cautious animals.Boy o boy Tom,coyotes & cougars! Maybe you had better sit up one night with your shotgun & scare some of thes critters off once & for all.Good luck.

If the horse is still alive it's a fighter, as most animals are under threat, cougars are small in comparison to the horse, so I would bet on the horse winning unless it's old or injured.

    Where do you live?

In general terms BTW, I don't want your address.....LOL
