I did not realize it had been a policy for that long, what state is this. Here in RI, it has only been implemented over the last few years.
Introduced in 1999 but made mandatory in 2003. Since 2003, kids cannot graduate high school in Ontario without having completed 40 hours of volunteer work.
They made my kids do it before 1999, Ducky. Maybe it was just the school they were going to.
I know that they were talking about it for a long time before they "introduced" the idea. It did seem to me (until I researched it) that it was further back than 1999. Maybe some schools just went ahead and did it!!
