I would be willing to let them go in exchange for their land. In other words, the citizens of Texas are free to go to any place on the planet they like better and we the citizens of the US will retain the property of Texas in their absence. We can rename it “ South New Jersey”….New Jersey and Delaware can spit the state between them as they need more land for retirement communities and rentals.

    Love it! :)

Some day, oil will lose its economic luster. On that very ineluctable day, Texas will be as potent a state as the current state of Maine,USA. Enjoy it while you can.

The association of oil and big money is the only thing that keeps oil going as there are emerging methods of dismissing the use of oil for fuel completely. Apparently those methods are being financially oppressed due to profit/loss in a transition not appearing to be equitable. Tax control of the transition is not an open subject but realistically is required for an uneventful change. Anti-trust laws protects industry from change that would disrupt commerce and the benefit to employees. So a replacement of oil for water as fuel has no chance of success in an anti-trust court…but as a personal choice of process over the oil giants, we cannot be stopped from eventually ending the oil economy one water fueler at a time.
