Do you let your pets sleep with you?

I do. Both my dogs. This is what it looks like when sleeping with two small dogs. Leroy is afraid to sleep anywhere near the edge of the bed and some part of his body MUST be touching me.

Cute and hilarious at exactly the same time!
If you had a boy, like I have a boy... the three of you would be sleeping on the floor.... IT IS STARFISH TIME!

Hahaha, so true. Kids are worse! My youngest son was gawd awful. The kid would flail his hands in his sleep. I got smacked in the face a few times. Other than that, sideways in the bed will his feet jammed in your back.

LOL..ONLY YOU could make it look like a CSI crime scene!!!;-))

HA! I was actually thinking of putting crime scene tape on it when I finished it but I didn't trust some of the really sick minds here so I left it off.

I don't have pets anymore but when I did, my dogs slept in the same room, near me, but on the floor.  My (one) cat, ON the bed but way down at the end.

That might be different if I got another dog or cat now.  I can't look at the ads from the Humane Society or I might "cave".   haha

yes,if I try and sneak in the bedroom without my 2 cats one will just throw himself at the door until I let him in,he sleeps on the pillow next to me,the other one is happy to sleep beside me,but both hav""e to be touching me

    Awwww...what a li'l cutiepie! :)

looks can be deceiving, one little cat needs almost an entire bed!

Oh, I know...they can tie you up in knots on the bed, so as not to disturb them.

    Colleen- LOL and True!

Yes we do, but it is not like a few years ago. When we first got married, my present wife was the caretaker of four Great Danes, and they did sleep with her but when I moved in, we had to limit it to two. The first night I stayed over, someone made a "noise" they weren't accustomed to, and for a minute, I was concerned I might be the recipient of an a$$ chewing.

Yes, Digger's other favorite spot is under my pillow so I get to wake up with a kink in my neck. He literally pushes himself under my pillow.

I get confused with Digger your dog and digger, our member. LOL
    digger

The difference is simple enough. Colleen won't allow me to sleep with her. Not that any ensuing "action" is likely to happen. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    Awwhh VERY CUTE SIR ROMOS!!...:-)

My little dog sleeps with me every night in the same position Digger sleeps with you. My big dog  prefers to sleep by himself most nights.

Yes!  I have always let my pets sleep with me!  (well not the mice).  I used to sleep in the middle of the bed and my dog would be on one side, the cat on the other, and they would play this game over me to wake me up!  Now I have a cat...who either sleeps back to back with me or cuddles up close to my face- touching me, of course!  I really don't sleep well without a pet cuddled up to me (used to drive my spouse nuts-o)...Hmmm, I kept the cat but will (very) soon be divorced.  Go Figure-LOL

I can't stand to have something in my face when sleeping. You made a very wise choice by the way :)

Thank you Colleen. I am finally happy again!

When I had my cat, he always slept

in the crook of my knees, which meant

that was the position I had to assume.

They sure know what they want

Worthless sleeps where he wants to but that is mostly with me................

The names we give our pets :o). When I was a child, our family had a beautiful cat named "Stupid".

A neighbor of ours had a dog named "Wart".
    jhharlan

He was doing something stupid after I got him and I told him it was Worthless and the name stuck. His brother's name was Pathetic.....

Yes and no.  It depends upon the pet and the pet's manners.

I once had a wonderful dog... (a few actually)... This particular dog loved me beyond the beyond.

I was very sick with Pneumonia, and that dog (who never slept on the bed) lay beside me in the bed until I became better.  In the very middle days, when I was very sick, I woke up and thought, "Who the heck is beside me?".  That dog licked my cheek once as I floated off into a place of healing ... he did this each time I woke up.

Eventually I grew healthier and the dog left the bed.

He was very happy when I could take him for his walks again.   ...   I think he had an agenda.

    ..... Gotta love the dog!

I had a dog who did the same thing with me, when I was lying on the couch for a few days, very sick. He never moved unless I got up and then came right back up on the couch beside me. He was actually never on the couch until those days and never again after I was well.

    Pets are natural healers :)

When I had a dog, I had a few non-negotiable rules. Since I paid the family "doghouse" mortgage, heating and air conditioning bills, she was barred from the following:

    - the kitchen table when I ate

    -the couch at all times

-my bedroom, let alone my bed, at all times.

We all lived happily ever after.

You're lucky they took to your rules so well without having to be mistreated. It's rare to find dogs that stay off the furniture when told. I personally see no reason why they can't join me on the sofa. It's only furniture. ;)

Not sure if it was luck or just knowing her place but she lived a Queen's life,I assure you. A very sad day at the Digger household when she was put down due to old age.

Sorry, I misread and thought you had more than one day. I suppose one is easier to train than two or more.

One of my cats sleeps with me. She lies partly under my arm and on  my shoulder, with her paw on my neck, I fall to sleep, listening to her purring. Does not mind been covered. She does not allow my second cat on the bed.

cool Ann...can I TU you more than once??!!;-)
    Ann

Thanks Millie. My animals have always been my children. They made my life a better place.

Not so much anymore.  The dog has found his way into my room, and he sleeps near the bed (actually follows me from room to room at all times).  The cat used to hang out, and still does occasionally, but she likes to be under a chair near the front window; it gets too hot when she parks on my chest and I have become more restless in my sleep.
I don't mind the company in the least.

    millie111

    GREAT Company though Bob..I love it when my littlest..Tiny..follows me to the gym..takes half an hour...for what would usually take 5 mins..but I love it..such a cute site..lots of people smile!!(he thinks he`s a puppy..not a cat)!!:-)

One of my sun conures (my first one) slept in bed with me for 2 years (pre dogs). I'd lay on my back and she's be on my chest, if I rolled over, she would move to my shoulder. She has a bald spot on her head from where the covers rubbed the feathers off. They've never grown back.

Yep..mine have run of the household and the bed!...One sleeps on my head!...@Colleen..yer bed looks positively empty compared to mine...I sleep/stay awake in the tiny space they allocate me..You`ve got it made!!;-)

lol!...i used to have a parrot ..but she was naughty enough in the day!...I would have been pecked to death had it slept in my bed!:-z...(cue Dowsa...the answer is bound to be henpecking)!!lol!;-)

Yes, imagine my annoyance when I see all that wasted space because Leroy will only sleep in the middle because anything closer to the other side is too close to the edge.

Trying to think of the last time I heard of a dog waking up in bed and just attacking it's owner for no reason at all...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Nope, nothing. Never heard of such a thing. What do you do to your dogs that make them want to attack you? Now people, there you could have a problem. Lots of people like to kill people when they are sleeping. I could worry more about a person I was sleeping with but never my dogs.
    millie111

Yep..I`VE NEVER heard of a cat or dog lashing out on beds!...They are more likely to jump at each other..though not yet here at night..only squabbles sometimes over food or play!...Obviously not wise to have pets near babies and toddlers...I`d say that most "Owners"..Pretty much know their pets...It does sicken me though when people keep fighter dogs and kids together!:-(

Yes, I totally believe in both my dogs. Have you known of anyone who got attacked by their dog for no reason when the dogs was sleeping in the bed with them? If it was a man, are you sure he was just sharing the bed with the dog and not some other thing that could make the dog want to attack?
