Do I have the right to view my personal medical history?

I had surgery yesterday. The nurses assigned to me were on the computer reading my medical history mostly supplied by my family physician.  They questioned me about several, one being about irritable bowel. They said that was listed with a note that I should have colonoscopies every two years. I have colonoscopies because my mother died of colon cancer. They have come back normal and even better than normal, according to the doctors who have reported to me afterwards.  My bowels move easily once or twice a day.  They questioned me about several other things that caught me by surprise, including rather persistent questioning me about spousal abuse (not the case).  Do I have the right to view my own medical history?
