Very disturbing fact.... Kids today know who MLK is but not JFK.... Do you see something wrong with this?

Yes something is wrong with that. I think it might be kids get out of school on MLK day. Sadly there is no JFK day. Does this make sense?

But we do have presidents day... And we are out... I think that they should talk about past presidents and their contributions if only for that one week.... They do for MLK.

I think it has to do with the fact MLK did more for his cause than did JFK. I do find it questionable that the majority of kids don't know who JFK is. On the other hand, how much do kids know about other presidents that served before they were born?

I quizzed my daughter after I found out he didnt know who JFK was...
Washington first pres
Lincoln freed slaves
Jefferson help write the Declaration
Franklin wrote declaration and had a newspaper
Adams' where the first father and son presidents
Eisenhower created the interstate system...(these are the only ones I asked about)
But she is a smart girl and retains info... I doubt other kids would. We talk about this stuff at home. That is prob why I was so shocked....
