          Normally only long enough for the dental technician to make the permanent crown. That should be no more than two weeks maximum.

            It is called a "temporary" cap because you are going to get a nicer one for keeps.  The temp can last quite a while if you take care of it!   Your cap should be ready in a couple of weeks.  If the temp doesn't last that long the dentist can replace it.

              I think you can go back in and have it re-glued if you are having trouble paying for the permanent one.
