LOL, check with your internet service provider and see if the issue is between Hotmail and them.
Trust me as one who specialises in jumping to conclusions and flying off the handle your suggestion has been thoroughly covered and explored . The IT guy set me up with a proxy and a port that fixed things for a bit . Now not so much . Exploring the net with search engine I found others with same problem solution for them was to disable silverlight and reinstall new version apparently the old version and Hot mail are like Hatfields and The McCoys dont like each other . Bill
You use silverlight? When I had that, I had all sorts of problems with my computer. If your silverlight is that same as mine was, then I suspect that could be the problem.

I have had problems with sent emails not arriving. what happens to these, do they circulate endlessly around cyberspace or do they fall to earth eventually? Gmail seems more reliable.

Thanks !!!!! I saw some customer feed back on hot mail and was shocked lots of angry people saying unkind things about Hot mail . I have about ten email accounts and agree with you gmail aint bad . Just like things to work when they are on my screen . I even got a proxy and a port to improve things ,much faster for a few days then back to cold tar speed . Old people should not be allowed to play with these machines . LOL !!!
I would not recommend gmail right now. With changes to their privacy policy, you may find you have a lot more "eyes" watching your every move. This is the reason I switched from gmail to hotmail. I want to see what happens with gmail over time.
