If the world were to stop turning floating off into outer space would be the least of our worries, unless obama were to veto that as well..

If he vetoed 'staying in our atmosphere" I would like Captain Kurk and Spock to steer the Earth LOL

You guys forgot Scotty and his dylithium crystals! How do you expect to go where no man has gone before without dylithium crystals?!

No. We rotate around the sun and have our own atmosphere.  Ocean,Sea, and Bay tides are effected by the moon's rotation...so, if the moon were to stay in the same location some areas of the earth would always experience and high tides and others would have little to no tides. I would expect flooding in the tidal areas and less water and still water in the other areas.  Our water's eco-systems would be changed.

    so why do planets rotate?

What about gravity ?....earth's rotation as opposed to its orbit.

    I'm confused.

We have gravity..the moon does not.

    no

Time seems to stop occasionally. One of those days when you get so many things done that you’re amazed at what you did. I know of historic accounts of time stopping but like I said, some sort of personal acceleration of time, usually a local event, can produce such things. We are all becoming more aware of time and the timing of events as part of our personal reality. Events slowing to a crawl as an accident is occurring allowing you to move quickly and avoid personal harm or injury. There are meditation states where the world will appear to speed up to a point where people seem to be racing up and down the streets and the passage of a day seems to go by in a very few moments as clouds race by and then it is night fall and you feel rested and relaxed.

It happened in Joshua 10:13 and nothing happened as far as gravity.

"So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. (Adding the next to verses to give it some context) 14There was no day like that before it or after it, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.

15Then Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp to Gilgal." ............

Sounds like something out of Greek mythology

Eclipse maybe?? The moon past over the sun or vice versa making it appear both had stopped? Really? You're going to believe this without researching what actually happened? There's no way the earth stopped rotating and then started up again. There would have been cataclysmic events. Why does the bible not speak of them?

i think Joshua 10:13 actually says the moon and sun stopped turning, but i dont think it says the Earth stops.

If the Sun and moon stood still, then the earth stopped rotating. Yes I do believe it, God who created it all can do as he likes no problem.
