They get next to nothing. I have been to several reservations and they are pitiful. The Native Americans have always gotten a raw deal.

I'm just comparing the Native Americans to the Australian Aboriginals. The N. A. never seem to be a news item.
Not entirely true . 25 years watching natives here in New Mexico .Some do quite well .Casinos have helped a bunch . I have little knowledge out side of here .For a very long time what you say was true ,its getting better in many ways ,still a long way to go .
The casinos have helped, I'm thankful. They created a way to help their own people, and not waited on the gov.-
The problems I see are poverty, ignorance, and extremely bad law enforcement. The sheriff department is too indifferent to serve the people of any color here. This county has reached a record high in violence. UNC is here doing a study trying to fine solutions. Until the sheriff departments problems are solved, not much is going to happen. Abuse of the law is unacceptable. The crime rate is 3 times higher here than anywhere in the US.
If you make someone angry here, it's the norm to cut their tires, or burn their home down.
Ignorance, low morals, and redneck sheriff and deputies rule. There are attacks by the sheriff deputies floating around fb on NA,blacks and poor whites. The attitude here is indifference.
I do not know what the Cherokee or the NA in New York suffer. The last time I went to Cherokee, they seem to fair pretty good. I didn't see the poverty I see here, or the abuse.
