Here`s to the servicemen and servicewomen who fought and in many many cases died fo us to be able to live the life we so enjoy on this day the ending of the bloodiest war in history World War 1

    They shall not grow old

As we that are left grow old

    Age will not weary them

     Or the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun

    And in the morning.

    We will remember them.

LEST WE FORGET  (PLEASE NO THUMBS UP FOR THIS I AM A THANKFUL EX DIGGER)

    The Soldier.          Rupert Brooke (1887-1915)

If I should die, Think only this of me:

That there's some corner of a foreign field

That is for ever England. There shall be

    In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;

A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,

Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam.

A body of England's, breathing English air,

Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

I had six uncles and a father that fought in W.W.2,the only one that did not make it back home was one of the uncles that did'nt even carry a gun,he was a medic killed in action.(Italy,January 31,1942)Pvt.Richard F. Webb,I was given his name (Richard)in his honor..

Thank you veterans, you are not forgotten... And a special thank's to my brother who fought the good fight in Vietnam (1968-1969) and came home only to take his own life because he could'nt deal with the nightmares any longer.RIP Steven Taylor,I miss you so much...

(((Rick))) I'm so sorry for you, your family and your dear brother. We need to take better care of our heroes. They just do what they are told to do and then do not get the help for what their conscious puts them through. It's tragic and seriously needs to be addressed.

Rick I think the Girls said it all for us on AKAQA our sorrow best wishes go to you

Do Australia and the UK celebrate Veterans day today also?

    nomdeplume

UK celebrates 11 November as do the French where it is a public holiday. The Aussies and Kiwis commemorate Anzac Day (25 April) more than 11 Nov.
