If you met a person and you were extremely attracted to them but, they spoke a different language from you, would you date them?

Yes. Love can transcend language difficulties. How did Adam & Eve communicate? Probably by sign language, e.g, she pointed and gestured to lift up his fig leaf! Perhaps you could engage someone who can act as an interpreter, get a dictionary to translate, etc.

Not sure how that could happen. The person could be an idiot but you don't realize it because you can't understand them. Worst yet she could be married and you find your self licking a Luger her husband Boris just shoved down your throat.

ed shank that's the funniest thing i heard today!

6 dates.  6 weeks. 6 months. I would have given it a go ... by the end of the six months one of us could probably converse in the other's language.  Cute is cute in any language.

    I've done that , but it's difficult.

    Sure why not ?

I would for sure.  We still have friends in Italy that don't speak English and my Husband and I have forgotten our Italian but we remain close friends through telephoning and e-mail.  Communication is Universal.

" Than you use the (Universal Language) which is known as body language! " ;)

    I did and still am.

First of all I would make sure they weren't doing it on purpose.

But seriously, most people say that lack of communication is the biggest problem in relationships.

Does that mean we should legalize the problem in favor of permissiveness?

Or is the effort to learn a new language not worth wasting on the relationship?

Are your pants on fire? Please, there is a reason we are called civilization.

Respect each other. I wish you the best on your journey.

Oh buy the way, her name was Mitos.

OF COURSE......if he was interested in me as well.

I can't say i would, reason being how would you really get to know the person.A first date is stressful enough, let alone not being able to converse.I can't imagine sitting at a restaurant and ordering a meal, how do you explain to him/her what the menu is,what the conversation would be, over dinner etc.No i wouldn't do it.

Yes, why not? The road and ride might be bumpy at first, but who knows, it could be the start of a wonderful and lasting relationship. Yes, go for it or you'll never know.

Yes, but it's difficult to communicate on a date with someone that doesn't speak your language. I've been there and done that. But , according to Beatle Biographies,  their first drummer, the late  Stuart Sutcliffe, had a hot and heavy love affair with a German girl when they were performing in Germany. They did the best they could and they were very much in love. Then, he died of a brain hemmorhage as the result of a beating. She wrote a book about him adn their relationship a few years ago. She was a budding art student way back  then.
