    Consider the population situation in Italy or Germany; very low birth rates, an aging population, and eventual decline in overall numbers.What policies would you recommend to these countries, assuming their desire to achieve a sustainable society?

    Sounds like someone is struggling for a social studies essay ...

    Germanys population has been on the decline since the 2nd world war. The goverment paid each family about 15o dollars a month for each 2nd, and third child so they would have more children. That did not work . There are many german people who have  no children by choice. However the general population is not declining. There are many immigrants from different countries living in Germany, mainly  from  Turkey and different  Muslim countries and they have larger families than the germans itself. I think that would be the same in Italy. Eventually Europe will be like the United States, countries  whos heritage will be obsolete
