It would be nice.. but lately it seems that both parties are more interested in saving themselves, instead of working towards a goal to help all the American people. Bipartison is always a good thing when dealing with issues that will help everyone. It gives a more diverse outlook in scoping out all the issues.
The worry the American people have during this tough challenge we all face, is losing our Contitutional values and not having current politicians uphold their oathes in protection of it. It has served the American people well, and it is what has set us aside as a great Nation for many years.

Both sides will never agree, but they could compromise in order to resolve problems and seek solutions that benefit the most people for the longest period ot time. One side will always have to give more than the other because to think that your solution lies in the middle all the time is rediculous. However, the same side wouldn't always be the giver. This isn't wishful thinking. A decade ago or so the center ruled the legislature and a lot of things got done. It was more recently that we became so divided for such a long time and the extremes of both parties took over. Extremes are fine as long as they remain relatively small because this is where most of your good ideas originate, but are unworkable because they are rigid. But then the center takes over and hammers out a solution. At least, it use to work like that most of the time.
