    After marriage, is it necessary to change to last name.

    I changed my name once and it's my name now. I'll NEVER change it again....

    not really,spouces with no one left to carry the torch, have every reason to keep their maiden name..

    You can change your name, keep your maiden name or even use a hyphenated name (such as Jones-Smith). 

    It's entirely up to you.  French Canadian women keep their maiden names usually.

    I didn't change, my wife did.

    No, You can keep your name. My cousin even kept the last name of her 1st husband, b/c of the kids, and b/c it sounded nicer, adn for business reasons ---it was too big a hassle to change it.

    There is no common law that says you have to change your name.

    Usually  those who are in a professional business b 4 marraige  may keep same name or use the  hyphenated
